Shares of Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN) crossed $700 for the first time on Tuesday. Bernstein analysts said the stock could hit $1,000 within the next year.
Shares of Amazon soared 3.43% and closed at a record high of $703.25 on Tuesday. In early trading Wednesday, Amazon shares rose 0.89% to $709.29.
Bernstein analyst Carlos Kirjner thinks Amazon's margins continuing to expand at a faster clip than expected. The investment research firm raised its 12-month price target on this e-commerce giant to $1,000 from $770, making it one of the most bullish brokerages on Amazon's shares. At $1,000 a share, Amazon would be the third-largest U.S.listed company, according to Thomson Reuters data, ranking just below Apple (AAPL) and Alphabet (GOOGL), Google's parent company.
